A Fun Day Out....

One afternoon I needed to go meet someone over in Logan and my kids weren't extremely thrilled, so I decided we would throw in some fun as well. Fun is what we had! The kids talked about it quite a bit afterward. They actually keep telling people what we did. Now being a mom is not always easy, but having days like this make all those difficult times go straight out the window!

The lady I had to meet with in Logan gave the kids some money so they could go get ice cream, so our first stop was Cold Stone! It was so yummy on a very hot day. It is a place they have never been, so they thought it was wonderful!

Our next stop was First Dam, we took a loaf of bread and enjoyed feeding the ducks. The kids thought it was lots of fun, they were even brave enough to get in the water to get closer to the ducks.

One of my most favorite photos of all time! I know it is kind of funny because Alec has a bread in his mouth, but oh I just love it... It seems like they have really struggled lately on being nice to each other, but I can look at this I think that some where within their handsome little bodies there is a whole lot of love for each other!

We then went to dinner. I can not even express enough how grateful I am for that simple fact that my kids are good enough to go sit in a restaurant and eat dinner with only one parent. I appreciate so much the fact that they understand the importance to be respectful enough to the place we are eating at and the people that are around us. It sure makes it easy enough to do those type of things!
Our last stop for the day was the Logan Temple. It was a Monday so it was perfect because no one else was there. Clear back when Marcus was our only child I told Carson I wanted to set a tradition that we go to the Temple with Marcus and find a special spot and touch it. Then when you keep going back they will touch that spot and through out time realize what that special feeling is that they are feeling. Well through the bossiness of life we have never gone back for that purpose. So nearly 6 years later I took the kids back and I was blown away when Marcus knew right were it was. We had a good little FHE, we sang songs, walked around the Temple, and of course the kids had a wonderful time rolling down the hills. We can't wait to go back and we look forward to going back with Carson as well!

Notice Princess Olivia a little bent out of shape because the boys weren't doing exactly what she wanted them to do!

Cortney, looks like you had a great day. You are doing a great job, being alone. You've about got it done and even though it has been hard, you have made the best of a bad situation. Pat yourself on the back!!!!

Fun day! Cute pictures! You are doing a fabulous job at being a single parent right now. I love the idea of having a spot you touch each time you go to the temple!
