We had our annual mile run at school. This year both the boys were able to do it! Marcus had 9min. & 13 sec.. Alec had 10min & 15 sec. (I think, give or take a few on each of them). We had gone and practiced a week before they had to run it, both the boys did well so we only practiced that one time. I was nervous for Alec because it was his first year, but I knew he would be able to do it because he had quite a bit of time do it. I was nervous for Marcus because you never know what will make him nervous, but I was also confident that he would be able to do it, if he allowed himself to!
Just as I thought, Marcus had a minor nervous break down. The poor kid gets so nervous, I feel bad because I'm not sure how to help him best. I just pushed him to get out there because I knew he could do it!
He did a great job, but about 2 laps in to it I noticed that both shoes were untied. He was running different so that he could hold his shoes on. I was kicking myself that I didn't think about tying his shoes before hand!
He did it in a 8:35! I believe his shoes slowed him down a little, but he was still a Rock Star!

Alec wasn't even nervous a little once that morning came! He did a great job, he did it in 8:15. I was so proud of him!!!
We will look forward to next year and wish for a little warmer weather!
