24th of July Celebrations
It seems like the 24th of July came around quite quickly this year. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. This is the first year in 5 years that we haven't had a child in the Baby Contest, so Carson was thinking it was a pretty good day! During the day Carson and the boys went out to the park to play on the blow up toys and play the games. Before they left the boys talked about how they wanted to do the Hot Dog eating contest. I didn't really think they would end up doing it since they said it last year and didn't do it, so I wasn't too concerned about going.
Well after a little while Carson called to tell me we had two hot dog eating champions! They were in the same division Marcus took 1st (he ate 3 1/2 hot dogs) and Alec took 2nd (he ate 3 hot dogs). The funny thing was Alec ate a Double Stack cheese burger right before it and Marcus didn't, so we are pretty sure that if Alec wouldn't have eaten anything right before he would have probably ate a ton more. The boys thought it was great and can't wait until next year!
That night we all went out to listen to the little concert that they had and watched the fireworks. The kids had a wonderful time!

My Cousin Kim's Wedding
My cousin on my Simmons side got married up in Snowbird at the first of August. My dad Steve, Marie {ReRe}, and my brother Hunter were able to come from California to the wedding. We haven't seen Marie for about 2 years and it has been about 1 year since we have seen my dad and Hunter. It was really fun getting to see them. During the day of the wedding we all meet at Jaime's house and had lunch and let the kids play with Hunter Uncle!
Then my parents and Molly watched all the kids while we went up to Snowbird to the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and it was so much fun seeing everyone!

Bee Stings
Marcus and Alec will swell up when they get bit by bees. Alec got bit on the wrist and pretty soon swelled up all into his arm and hand. But by the next morning it was pretty much gone. The following week Marcus got bit right on his eyebrow hair line. Right away we put ice on it hoping not much swelling would happen. About 10 minutes after we stopped putting ice on it his eye completely closed shut. After giving him medicine I really thought he would wake up the next morning with it back to normal. I was wrong! The swelling moved above and below the eye and it made his nose swollen, and it started to close the other eye. After giving him medicine for three days it finally went down. Every morning he would wake up and look in the mirror and say, "Oh, this is stupid!"
{This is during the better part of his swelling!}His biggest lesson learned during this experience is.... Don't shot bees/wasps with his elastic gun!

Swimming Lessons
We finished another year of swimming lessons. It was a very successful year for all three kids! Marcus continued to get stronger at swimming laps and jumping higher with his dives, Alec was able to get lots of confidence in swimming laps, and Olivia learned she loves to swim! With Olivia the whole pool was deep to her she didn't care if she was swimming in the deep end or the shallow end. Chrystal and Whitney called her "Nemo" because she was really good at swimming with one arm, but didn't quite understand using both arms! Towards the end of her last session they were having her jump of the edge of the pool and turning around to swim back to the edge. They even got her diving off the edge and the diving board a couple of times. It was kind of amazing seeing this little girl dive off the diving board.
I am just so thankful for the wonderful, patient teachers that my kids have during swimming lessons. It has made their experience a wonderful one! And I am so grateful that my kids love the water.... It was a wonderful swimming season.

Olivia Gets Her Ears Pierced
When Olivia was born Carson and I would talk about when we would get Olivia's ears pierced. We didn't really know when would be the best time, but as Olivia got older one thing that she noticed a lot on little girls was their earrings. A couple of months ago we were shopping and the boys wondered if Olivia could get her ears pierced, so we went in the store, she picked out which ones she wanted, and then watched an older girl get hers pierced, and then she decided that she didn't not want them to be done.
She then would talk about getting them down when she was five, so we thought that is when she would do it. Well a couple weeks previous we were going shopping and then she was headed down to play with her cousins. On our way down she said, "when I am done playing with Abby I want to get my ears pierced." Well we got done to late, so we just figured whenever she talked about it again we would go for it.
That next week we were in Logan just getting done with our errands when she said, "oh, I need to get my ears pierced!" So me, Molly, Marcus, Alec, and Olivia headed back to the mall so we could take this giant step in her life and get ears pierced! She went right in there picked out her earrings (different from what I thought she would pick), which were silver balls, and was excited to get her "pink" sucker was she was done. Well she didn't know what to expect, but thankfully they did it at the same time because I knew if they wouldn't have they would not have got them both done. She cried hard for a couple of minutes, but then was excited to go pick out new earrings, lip stuff, and fingernail polish.
That night when it was time for bed she said she didn't want her ears pierced anymore because she didn't know how she was going to lay down, but by morning she kept talking about next time when she needed to get them done. Little does she realize it is a one time deal! We are anxious to be able to take them out and put in her pretty elephant earrings that she picked out! I realized after she picked those out that I would probably be picking out her earrings for awhile!
She loves them and loves to tell people that she has her ears pierced!

Utah State Aggie Scrimmage
On Saturday Carson, Marcus, and Alec enjoyed a boys day out going and watching the Aggies play football and meeting Big Blue. Olivia wondered when we get to go meet "Big Pink"! They had a wonderful time. They got Big Blue to sign their new Big Blue Aggies hats, they got to dunk the Cheerleaders at the dunking machine, play in the blow up toys, watch them play football, have the Football coach sign their Aggie footballs, and they also were able to have the football players throw them some footballs. Carson said the football players were impressed with Marcus' ability to catch the ball and make a "touchdown" and for Alec's ability to run.
I am so glad that Carson was able to make memories like this with the boys!

What some cute posts! I can't believe how big your brother Hunter is! Way to go Olivia...I keep wishing Allie would like to get her ears pierced. She probably will when she's 15:) I'll have to show her Olivia's pictures! Cute family!!!
wow you guys have been busy! looks like fun and i can't believe olivia was that daring! hope you got my email about tomorrow, if not call me and i'll give you the detail, see ya then!
You've been busy blogging and it was fun to read all your posts. Olivia is so brave to get her ears pierced I think the twins watching Kinley cured them of wanting it done for a while. Actually the day we got it done (with Kinley) I bought Emri and Maci clip ons and Emri wears hers almost every day. It's too funny. If I had my bets she'd want to get hers done WAY before Maci. Olivia looks darling and it was fun to see 3D pictures of your little guy. Any news on Kinley's skirt yet?
