My sister Jaime a couple of weeks ago had some moles removed, well last week she received the unsettling news that one of them was melanoma and that she had another one that needed to have some more tissue cut out so they could tell better what was going on with that one. For many of you that know Jaime well, know that she has what we call the Simmons fake and freaks out over pain, sickness, etc. Well we need to give Jaime lots of praise because she held it together more then the rest of us. Everyday when I would call her she said I am fine, I know it is going to be okay. Well today she went and met with oncologist (spelling) and on Friday she will go and have surgery to cut our more tissue. She has a 20% chance that it has spread and 80% chance that it has not.
You may wonder why I am blogging about this, so here it goes. Many of you know her so please keep her in your prayers this week. As helpless as I feel, I know that is what we need to do for her. We need my big sis around for many, many more years to come! Also I am realizing the importance in getting your moles checked. If you search on line you will find a list of who by hair color/eye color are more likely then others, but still get checked! Also most importantly don't forget that sunscreen! Since having my kids I have realized how well sunscreen really works. I will rub my kids down every 30 minutes when we are out side and they still get a nice tan, so don't forget that sun screen!

We will be praying for Jaime. I'm sure everything will be fine...
Love, Lani
We will keep her in our prayers!
What a hard thing to have to think about. Life is just so unpredictable. She is in our prayers. We hope it all turns out well.
Jayson had the same thing last winter. Is Jamie going down to the huntsman cancer institute? If so she will probably see Dr. Noyes. We really liked him. Jayson had a 5x2.5 chunk of skin taken off of the back on his shoulder and also had incisions in his neck and armpit to remove remove lymph nodes. Don't tell her about the nasty scars. Anyways keep us posted! She will be in our prayers. I know how scary and unsettling it feels.
Thanks for everyones support! I will have to keep you updated. Today she spent the day up at the hunstman cancer institute (Jeri it is the same Dr) and they told because of it on her leg and the size of it 6x2 she will not really be able to walk on it until Monday unless they have to do a skin graph then it will be longer. The nurse told her it will be pretty painful. She is our prayers, I will let everyone know how she does after tomorrow.
