Summer Garden....

This summer we were able to enjoy lots of yummy food from the garden that my dad planted and took care of out to my grandpa's house (I helped a little!!!). My boys really enjoyed going out to grandpa's "farm" to work in the garden with Papa. We got so many yummy things from the garden {tomatoes, green peppers, jal. peppers, cucumbers (2 different kinds), squash, zucchini, corn, carrots, and pumpkins}. My kids new favorite snack is cucumbers in vinegar, except for Marcus he just likes them plan. Once our corn started to come up my dad noticed a little bit of a problem with it, the raccoons were eating it! So one night my dad and the boys went out with a trap and a can of tuna, they got the trap all set and then we had to wait until the next morning to see if anything happened. Sure enough they caught one! As soon as we picked Marcus up from school we headed out to the farm so the boys could see what it looked like. Man raccoons are so mean!!! Who would have thought that a little animal could be so mean. Later that day my dads friend came out and picked up our new little friend so he could go teach his dogs how to hunt (or something like that).

Well thanks dad for all the many hours you spent riding your bike or taking two extra helpers out to the garden, we really enjoyed all of the yummy food! Oh, I can't wait to have some of those big pumpkins sitting on my porch!!!
