Our Annual Rhodes Get Away 2009

We can hardly believe that our annual Rhodes getaway 2009 has already came and gone! We look forward to it all year long and once that weekend is here it just seems to fly by! This year it was a little different then past years. My moms very thoughtful brother, my Uncle Steve and my Aunt Laureen offered us to stay in their cabin that is in Oakley (which is up by Park City). We were very excited to go check out their new cabin. Oh it was fabulous! The whole time we were driving there Carson kept saying over and over, "oh can you believe that they have a cabin here!" We had a wonderful time relaxing, visiting, playing games, watching movies, and riding 4-wheelers. Jayson found a bike trail for the guys to go riding on, it was quite funny to watch them get out of the truck (when I say them I mostly mean Carson!) they walked as if they had been riding a horse for the past day! It had snowed a couple of days before we got there, but for the most part the snow was gone. The day we were leaving it started to snow and raining again, so we lucked out on good weather except for the couple of hours before leaving.

The kids loved riding the 4-wheelers. They were willing to go with anyone who was willing to take them, as long as they got a ride. Marcus really enjoyed driving. At first I was a little nervous, but I realized he was a very good careful driver! Alec liked trying, but he needed a lot of assistance. I can't even say enough about what a wonderful time we had, it is one of those things that words just can't express it so you just need to bottle it up with photos and memories!

Oh, Sisters!

Ryan, Me, Molly, and Jaime
There was a lot of best of series going on down here! All I can say is I am not very good at either so I was not the best of anything!

We had so much room. On the main level there was a family room, kitchen, two bedrooms, 1 bathroom. Upstairs is a loft or what my kids called the "library" because all of my cousins books were up there. Downstairs there was a family room with game tables and tv, two rooms, and a bathroom. It was wonderful!

While we were there Marcus turned 7! I can hardly believe that my baby boy is 7, those 7 years have flown by. I have to say I am a very proud mom that he is mine. Don't get me wrong he can give us a run for our money with his emotional attitude, but he truly is a great kid with a lot of compassion for people around him. When I am at school with him or some where around town it always makes me so happy to see him saying hello to so many kids that go to his same school. He plays a lot with all ages of friends, boys or girls. His teacher at school told us that if someone in his class gets to pick a helper to help them they pick Marcus a lot of the time. He has a lot of hobbies that he enjoys. The thing is he isn't going to move on to the next hobby until he has the one that he is enjoying mastered to perfection! With his little personality I am thankful he is my oldest, what a great role model he will be to the others! We hope you had a great birthday Mr. Big, we love you!

This is his new bike that me, Carson, Grandpa Steve, and ReRe gave him. It is a "trick" bike that he has wanted for a long time. He rides it all the time and even enjoys give people "peg" rides!
