Round Two.....

{February 23, 2010}

After getting some test results back from my stomach when they scoped it a few weeks ago my Doctor decided it would be best to take out my Gallbladder. So that is how we spent the day yesterday! It was no fun coming out of the anesthesia, but it is wonderful to not have the constant sick feeling I was getting from my Gallbladder. Do to the drugs that they put into my body I couldn't nurse Payton the first two feedings after I woke up, so we sent him over to my parents house for awhile last night so they could take care of him and I could rest. When we got him back and I nursed him for the first time I realized this wasn't going to be very easy to do. It hurt! So we had a long night last night because I was in pain feeding him and it hurt to cuddle him like I usually do. He was sad, I was sad, Carson was sad, and I believe through it all Alec was awake and sad as well!
The recovery shouldn't be to bad once we are over the soreness of the incisions. I can't lift anything over 20lbs for two weeks is pretty much all of the restrictions. It is a waiting/guessing game to see if there are things I can't eat and drink by not having my gallbladder, but hopefully I will not be bothered by anything. I am just excited to feel good!
{{I wanted to include a picture of our little Payton, I am sure you are all wondering what he look like at 10 weeks old!!!}}

{side note: Back in January of 2001 I had my appendix taken out. When I was talking to this new Doctor who took out my Gallbladder I asked him what an appendix is actually for. He started to laugh and said, "Really nothing. I tell people it is for my kids college education!" So there you have it, we don't need it, but we can get really sick by having it, and it just makes Doctors richer!!}
