When Marcus had is 5 year old well check it was the day we were going to go to Park City, so I told the kids' pediatrician that we would do flu shots at Olivia's well check. Since then whenever someone would ask how old Olivia is and I would say almost one, Marcus would say oh man flu shots! Well Friday was Olivia's well check visit. She did great! She weighs 19 lb 13 oz (28%) and height 28 1/4 inches (23%). We thought that was great since she moved up in the % although it is still at the low end, oh well! Then it was to the immunization/flu shot room! Marcus decided he wanted Olivia to go first, then Alec, and then he would be last. I wasn't sure that was the best order, but I figure we better do what he wants. Olivia went first and she had to get 4 so you can only imagine what she did (Marcus was hiding in the hall), Alec, well he hated it and cried (Marcus was really hiding), so then I had to hand Olivia to the nurse, Alec was standing there crying while I ran around the hall catching Marcus, picked him up, pried his hands off his belt, and then he received the flu shot (oh did I mention the other two were still crying!). Now we just have to go back in a month for Olivia to receive the second half of her shot.
I pray this year is different and we do not get the flu! Two years ago the boys got the flu shot and they still got the strain of flu you are not supposed to get by getting the flu shot and got sick many other times. Last year I did not make them get the shot because what happened the year before and they still got the flu. So this year is the test year! If they stay healthy (for the most part) we will do this every year and if they get sick they will probably never have to get the flu shot again!

You mean mom : ) I have debated having Summer get hers, because I had the same thing happened. I hope you guys miss the flu this year!!!
You are so great to brave it alone with three kids! I have to take T.J. with me to get the twins shots done. I refuse to try and handle two crying babies by myself. You deserve the mom of the year award to handle three!!!
Hey Court! You never know about the flu shot, but I just think it has to help some! It so sad to see them cry like that! We did flu shots at River's 5 year (he had to get 4 shots) and it took me and two nurses to hold him down! It was so sad. Ceder just looked at the nurse like she was so mean, and then started to cry, no fun!
