Marcus hit a huge milestone by turning 8, he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Before his baptism, we went to the Logan Temple and took some pictures of him in his new suit for his invitations. Let's just say he is quite the kid, he really knows how to ham it up! He really wanted a suit for his 8th birthday, so I think even though he didn't really care to get his pictures taken I think he was enjoying being in his new suit.
This was what we gave everyone who came to his Baptism. There was a magnet on the back of it.
Marcus with his new Scriptures. When I went and got them and got his name engraved on them, it hit me pretty hard. I started to get quite emotional that I had hit such a huge milestone with my 1st born.
| We gave Marcus this towel before his baptism so he could use it after he was done getting Baptized. I loved the way it turned out. |
My Handsome 8 Year old boy! I love the peacefulness he has dressed in white.....
It was such a wonderful day with so many family members and friends that were able to come and show their love and support to Marcus. There was one other person in our ward, Tamsyn, who also got baptized that same day and there were about 10 others from our Stake. It was such a neat thing seeing Marcus and Carson sitting up at the front of the Chapel both dressed in white waiting for our turn to go into the baptismal font room. I think with the summer we just had and just barely getting Carson home our little family felt an extra special feeling of peace and love!
Carson did a great job baptizing him and confirming him. I can't even begin to express the emotions and the feeling of such a full, loving heart. It is one of those moments that you can honestly say that your life is perfect! After his cconfirmation, the Bishop had me and Tamsyn's mom, Amy, bore our testimonies and then he opened it up to the rest of the family members and friends. Marcus had his Nana and Papa, Grandma Lani, and his cousin Jackson bare their testimonies. It was neat to have Jackson because Marcus looks up to him so much! Afterwards the Bishop was sitting up at the front of the room and asked Marcus and Tamsyn to come up to the front of the room. He was sitting there and put his arms around each one of the kids. It was a very simple moment, but a very touching moment. We are so lucky to have this gospel in our lives. The feeling of peace, love, and contentment by following His plan is such a wonderful feeling.
I am so grateful for Marcus and for his cute little desire to be baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am grateful for the example he is to his younger siblings. I am grateful that I was able to witness such an amazing day!
After the luncheon at our house when we were headed down south Carson and I were talking to him about his big day. There seemed to be something different about him, he had an extra glow about him. We asked him what he thought about being baptized and how he felt. He replied, "You know it is weird, I felt different." We asked what he meant and he said, "I felt like a new me!" Carson and I looked at each other and you could tell that we both were thinking, "he got it, he felt the spirit!" Those words, I felt like a new me, made everything worth it. What a special day, a day that we were able to witness, a day that it happened to my son! I was proud, I am proud of my Mr. Marco man!
What a good day!

During the summer while Carson was gone we got to know the Sandall's quite a bit. We had many long nights doing wedding flowers. They were such a huge help to us when everything happened with my Dad, and they were so willing to help out watching the kids during the summer when I had things to do and my mom was busy helping my dad in his recovery process. We were so grateful they could spend this extra special day with us!
I love fall time and all the fun colors that comes with it!
The food was so yummy!
Our yummy dessert buffet.
The lunch turned out wonderful. It was so nice to fill our home with so many family members and friends after such a special event that took place. I love planning a party, I love planning the little details! The food was wonderful, the dessert buffet turned out great. The party we planned to celebrate such an amazing day turned out flawless, it was great!
What a wonderful day. I can't believe that my baby boy is already 8 and has been baptized. I am so proud of the little guy that he is becoming and the choices he is making in his life! Your family loves you BIG much Mr. Marco.....

After Marcus' baptism and luncheon, we left Payton at my parents' house and the rest of us went to Marcus' last baseball game of the season and then down to Provo to a work party for APX. We were excited that they had a game on that day because Carson was able to go and watch him. He was able to watch the first game of his Spring/Summer season and then last game of his Fall season. Marcus made an amazing last play. He was in left field and we were ahead by 1. The batter got up to hit, smacked it into left field Marcus jumped a little to get the ball it caught it and then flew back to the ground! It was the greatest, everyone was cheering for him. I think for Carson it was a very proud "Dad" moment!
The APX party was pretty fun (I wish I would have taken my camera). Nitro Circus came and put on a good show for us. The kids thought it was way awesome and I could see Marcus' mind just a turning, thinking how awesome he will be one day. I quickly let him know it is way to dangerous and he never can do it! For the kids it was a good pay back that they didn't see there Dad all summer! I was really impressed with how well Olivia did, she loved it!
It was a great day, I love my family and all the craziness it brings.....

Wow...looks like an amazing day. I swear you're not old enough to have an 8 year old.
