Halloween {2010}

We had a fun Halloween this year.  We did something that we have never done.  We took the kids to a local Corn Maze that they boys teachers family puts on.  When we got there the Busby family was also going, so the kids thought it was a blast to run through it with each other.  I am not to sure that I could have done it at night when it was dark, but we had a good time.  Marcus later went back with some friends when it was dark and haunted and it thought it was great.  Maybe next year we will have to try that out!

Carson and I started off the Halloween season going to an adult Halloween party.  We had so much fun, we are so thankful my parents could watch the kids.  We laughed so hard, my cheeks hurt bad.  We can't decide if the Boy Cheerleader or Napoleon Dynamite brought us more laughs!  Thanks so much Rigby's, we had a wonderful time.  Next time we won't come in last!

I love Halloween!  I honestly start planning right now what my kids are going to be for the next year.  I did find out this year that my boys are big enough that they want to choose and it isn't always what I want it to be!  Last year I thought it would be so fun if this year Marcus would be the Tin Man, Alec the Scarecrow, Olivia Dorthy, and Payton the Lion.  All year long Alec was the one who wasn't too sure about it, but I told him I would buy him any costume he wanted if he just would be the Scarecrow on Halloween.  Believe it or not he went for it, that was the plan.  Until a month before Halloween Marcus let me know he was not going to be the Tin Man.  I decided that since his years dressing up were few in numbers I better let him choose.  We came up with a plan that would allow them to be scary and gross.  I decided with my two boys the more bloody and gross you can be, the better!

They really got into carving pumpkins this year.  I think this year was the first year they didn't get completely grossed out by the pumpkin guts!

 I actually think they enjoyed it!

Our Dead/Hurt Baseball Player....

Our Dead/Hurt Soccer Player.... {I told you the more blood, the better}
You might be wondering what was wrong with his eyes...  Well they got kicked out by someones Soccer cleats!!

My Sweet little Dorothy...

And my Precious little Lion... Marcus and Alec also wore this costume.  Someone made it for my older sister, Jaime when she was one.  She she wore it, I wore it, all 3 of my boys wore it, and Jaime's boys wore it.

 I wanted to be creative, so I actually sewed Olivia's dress.  I know I could have gone and bought it, but I want to challenge myself to something I have never done before.  I think it turned out pretty good, I didn't even have a pattern!  By the way, she is loving her hair!

 Pocahontas joined us!  She found this in my parents Halloween box, it was hers from when she was in 2nd grade!

 Our little friend Taylee.  She wanted to be a Unicorn so me, my Mom, and Molly made this costume for her.  It turned out really cute!

The kids had a ton of fun Trick or Treating.  We were a little worried about the weather, but it ended up being great.  At the beginning it was raining so that is when we did the Grandparents that we had to drive to.  By the time we got back into our neighborhood the skies cleared up and the kids went to town throughout the whole neighborhood.  The boys went with their friend Josh and then they met up with Jarett and then we took Olivia with her friends Taylee and Emma.  Payton also enjoyed walking around for awhile and then he went and spent sometime at Papa and Nana's house.

The kids enjoyed coming home to their traditional Halloween dinner. Spider bread, with veggies, chicken sandwiches, apples, and witches brew!
I sure love these darlings of mine!
