Throughout the baseball season there was one particular team that just ate at Carson if they lost. It all started in the Spring with a friendly little pre season baseball tournament. We won this team the first time and during the championship game our little Bears didn't play their best and they lost. Well during the game the other Coach lost his temper quite a few times and so from then on Carson just didn't want to loose to them! We played them a third time and they one again. So they had two wins and we had one. We were going into another weekend game where we would play them again and Carson did not want to loose to them. So Carson being the "hate to loose" person that he is decided to have a friendly little bet with his team. He told the boys if they would win the Coaches would shave their heads (lets remind you that there was no getting they a-o-k from the wives!). As the boys were all pumped ready to go Coach Smoot decided to throw in there that if they won by 5 he would shave his legs also!!!
Well our boys got in their, they all played amazing and won by I believe 6! So the next practice they took a little bit of time to let the boys shave their heads. It was great and the boys thought it was fantastic. And lucky for us wives, all of their heads had a pretty nice shape to it!! The funniest part was when David was getting his head shaved he told Coach Carson that next time maybe he should bet a Maddox dinner!!
It was a crazy thing for Coach Carson to do, but the boys all had a great time doing it and the coaches and some dads where great sports about losing what little hair they had;). We just made sure and reminded them to use sunscreen during our baseball tournament that was coming up.
