Park City 2008

{October 3-5, 2008}
The first weekend in October we went on our annual Park City trip with my family. We had a wonderful time! Friday of course I was running behind, but we still got on the road at a pretty decent time. About 10 miles into the canyon (I am not sure what canyon, maybe Weber? You know then one when you get off by Riverdale Road and go on up to Park City), I heard this weird sound and I asked Carson what it was. He told me he thought we had a flat, I thought he was joking, but he got over as soon as he could to check it out. Sure enough we had a flat! It was horrible, people were going so fast on that road. My parents were getting off the exit by Park City, but some of our friends where in Ogden so we called them to come help us because we were afraid of driving on the doghnut to long. So we lucked out to have great friends behind us, thanks Clint and Tricia. We got the tire all changed and then they followed us to Morgan. The tire just needed to be patched, so they got us all patched up and we were on our way! That only put us about 2 hours behind and the bad thing was we had dinner, so we didn't eat dinner until 8 pm! Once we got all settled and had dinner the four little boys enjoyed sitting in the hot tub with Nana and Papa.

Saturday was Marcus' HAPPY 6 BIRTHDAY! We thought it was such a special day. Of course it was raining, but it didn't seem to slow down those boys at all. Carson took them to the park in the ran at one point and they thought it was great. Carson said that Austin went down the slide and landed in a puddle of water like a water slide! They enjoyed the hot tub quite a few times that day! Me, Jaime, Ryan, and the two baby girls enjoyed a little shopping at the outlets. Ryan made a great babysitter! The plan for that day was to have some family pictures taken, when we planned it 2 months before we just prayed for good weather. Well we weren't quite that lucky, but we did get some dry moments so I think we got what was needed. Nicole, you did a great job and Jen and Lindsey we enjoyed all of your efforts in helping to get a smile or two! {Let's all take a moment to enjoy Alec's smile, don't worry that is his smile in all of the photos that I have seen so far!}

After pictures we had dinner and then it was party time! Like I have been saying Marcus has been wanting to have Hip Hop Dance Party, so that is what we did. He also wanted a hip hop dancer that had gold braces on his cake, so he did! It was darling, I am telling you Stacy keeps out doing her self, she is amazing! We had a great time, we really enjoyed everyones moves! I am not sure if they get much better then what Papa had to show us!!! Marcus was also very lucky that he was able to share his birthday with two of his friends, Josh and Emma. Their family was also staying up in Park City so we had them come over for cake and ice cream and to play a little musical chairs. Marcus is very lucky to have so many family members and friends that care about him so much to make his day so special.

This year was exciting for us to give him some presents. He was wanting a skate board so bad, but wasn't too sure about anything else. When we gave him a big tractor with a plow he was so excited. He has loved playing with my brothers over at my moms house, so I hope he will take great care of it so his kids can enjoy it as well. Marcus I can't believe that you are already six years old, time is flying by! I loved being able to take the time while we were on our way up to Park City to talk with you about when you were born and speical moments Mommy and Daddy remember. Your a great kid, I look forward to so many more birthdays!!!

On Sunday we just got up, we hung out, and relaxed, it was quite nice actually. We had a wonderful stay, the weather wasn't the best, but the kids don't think of that as a problem so it is okay. It is so nice to be able to relax, watch cousins play each other (this is the first time that Olivia and Abigail played really well with each other), and visit with one another. We look forward to many more Park City trips with the Rhodes Family!

I'm still here. We leave Monday. I feel like I've been on hiatus from blogging. I'm completely out of my element having real people to talk to.

A week here is not nearly long enough. We'll be back in December for about three weeks, so that will be much better.

Happy birthday Marcus!
