A Day To Remember....

When we think back to days that we remember you feel aged sometimes. I remember growing up when ever you would hear about President Kennedy my mom would talk about the day when he was killed, what she was doing etc. I still can remember watching the Challenger Shuttle launching and how at school they let us watch because of the school teacher in it and then we all know what happened there. I also remember when President Howard W. Hunter died, I don't remember President Hinckley being called to Prophet, but I do remember being very excited to listen to him for the first time. So today as we watched the announcement of the new Presidency, I realized how this is a day to remember. When I am 75 I can tell my grandkids I remember the day President Monson was named Prophet. Me and the kids went outside to play in all the snow we got the day before, Olivia wasn't feeling well, and Carson was off to another busy day at work!
I decided that I am not a person for change, I have a hard time adjusting to new things. It is similar to getting a new Bishop. You are so sad to see the Bishopric get changed and I think part of that sadness comes from wondering how the new Bishopric is going to do things, but before to long you can't imagine any other Bishop. So for today their is that bitter sweet feeling. So sad to see President Hinckley's legacy and all the good he has done change, but sweet to know that Heavenly Father wants President Monson to be the next Prophet, so the change will be fine. I do enjoy President Monson's talks, so I do look forward to seeing the things that he will bring into our lives.

On 4 Feb. 2008 Thomas S Monson is named the new president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. President Henry B Erying first counselor and President Dieter F Uchtdorf second counselor.....

and President Boyd K Paker President of the Quorm of the 12.
