I grew up having my sister having horrible issues with her Thyroid and I always thought two things. How horrible to have a problem like that and why not me-look at how skinny she is (I know the two thoughts go against each other)! When Alec was just over 1 I have found out that I too was having problems with my thyroid, I thought yes I will be skinny! No such luck. So after taking the pills for a couple of months I thought this is not giving me any more energy or helping weight issues forget this I am not taking my pills. Well within four months I was have worse health problems so my Dr. told me the importance of taking the thyroid pills so I started up again, which at that point I was pregnant with Olivia. Right after having Olivia I felt like a million bucks! I could stay up until 1:00 am, wake up throughout the night, and wake up for the day around 7:00 am and just have so much energy throughout the day-it was wonderful! Well when Olivia was 3 months old I was feeling horrible again so I went and got my thryoid checked and sure enough it was way off, so they put the dosage levels higher. Honestly I still felt horrible! During the summer I had some more tests done and I (like my sister) has hsysmoto syndrom or something like that along with the thyroid, which neither one of us really understand. My tests came back pretty normal, but I still felt horrible! This last week I decided that I need to get checked again, I have honestly felt sor horrible not having energy to do anything. If I didin't have children I could have probably never gotten out of bed. My Dr called the next day and let me know that they had to up my medications again (when I started I was 050mcg and now they are putting me to 0150mcg of synthyroid), my levels should be anywhere between .46-4.6 and levels where 19.65! My nurse said, "Do you feel horrible, I don't know how you are going throughout a day with those levels!" So good news at four days of the new medications I am feeling so much better, so I can't wait to see after taking them for longer how I feel. Lets hope this was my problem and I don't ever go back to what I was feeling like!
If any of you feel that way go get checked!!

A few of my aunts have also had Thyroid issues. It's really something I should get checked out too. Truth be told, the first thing I think about in the morning is a diet pepsi. :(
I have had problems with mine too. I think that it totally stinks we all just can't be the same. I need to get mine checked again, it's been since before I found out I was pregnant with my little boy, so about 2.5 years. I always forget to put that in the equation. By the way the computer thing is so cute. My boy does the same thing. Maybe it's becasue the world is moving so fast they really need to get a move on it.
I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling so horrible lately. I hope you start feeling better soon!
What a cute blog and super cute pictures. I'm sorry to hear about the thyroid problem. I'm glad they got it figured out and hope you feel better soon. It will be fun to have the kids play together when we get home.
