Alec's Preschool Fieldtrip

{May 18, 2009}

Olivia and I were able to go with Alec on his Preschool field trip. We had a fun time, it is always fun watching your kids interact with friends that they made throughout the year. He had nine kids in his class this year and for the most part you could tell they were all pretty quite kids!

Our first stop was off to a local dairy. We were able to see where the baby cows go and then each area that the cows go to as they get bigger. One thing I know is I would not be a good dairy wife. I can't really stand the smell!

The parents where a little worried about what they were doing to the cows with this machine, so before we let the kids get to close Mrs. Francom asked them what they were doing. Any guesses? They were trimming their feet! I wonder if they have anything like that for kids, strapping them down to do some nail trimmings would be easier!

We then went to a place where they help them farmers with feed, sprinklers, etc. The kids were able to get a couple packets of seeds and a fun coloring book. They loved it!

Our next stop was the Physical Therapist. They had this wax stuff that we were able to dip our fingers into. It actually felt pretty cool.

Our next stop was the new hospital. I thought that was pretty cool because we were unable to attend the open house before the hospital opened up.
Our last stop was the park to have a picnic and play on the toys. The kids had a wonderful time and Olivia thought she was pretty cool hanging out with the big kids. Alec has made some good little friends this year and he is lucky enough that they will go to school with him next year. Who knows maybe they will be in Kindergarten together.

Marcus also had a field trip the same day and time. I was sad that I couldn't go, but I thought I could go next year. He also went to a local dairy (a different one from where we went), he was able to get a tour of the Fire Department, and then end the day having school lunch like he will do in 1st grade. I think he thought that was the best part!
